Arnold Newman, the portrait photographer whose pictures of some of the world's most eminent people set a standard for artistic interpretation and stylistic integrity in the postwar age of picture magazines, died yesterday in Manhattan. He was 88 and lived on the Upper West Side.

: artglue :: zomer van de fotografie

De Zomer van 2006 focust op deze nieuwe fotografie. Verschillende initiatieven, exposities, colloquia, ateliers en wedstrijden over fotografie worden samengebracht. De Zomer speelt zich af in Brussel, Antwerpen en in Wallonië. Het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten toont de centrale internationale tentoonstelling Click Doubleclick en organiseert de wedstrijd PÔZE. Verder vinden er tentoonstellingen plaats in diverse culturele centra, scholen en galeries.
